The Newest Trends in Millwork

As the housing industry recovers, builders are once again separating themselves from the competition by creating unique focal points within the home. Here are a few things we have noticed gaining more and more attention and will sure to be a hit with your client..

Rustic Cherry Doors, and Rustic Hickory Doors are getting used as accent pieces in many places throughout the home. As are Knotty Alder Doors. Any of these solid wood doors can greatly enhace the entrance to a wine cellar or study. Wine Cellar Doors with wrought iron in the glass or even applied to the outside of the glass makes a really big statement.

Barn Doors and barn door hardware is being used in places like pantry doors. You may think they only work in a rustic setting but there are several new hardware styles that allow you to use them in any setting.

Reclaimed Wood Flooring is making it's way into many new custom homes. At a recent Columbus Ohio parade, many homes were showing Reclaimed White Oak Flooring, or simlulated Reclaimed Hickory Flooring like the one we created here..

Dark Colors. Colors like Peppercorn, Kaffe, and Cabernet are very popular in not only Interior Doors and MIllwork but also in cabinets and furniture. A quick walk through our factory and you can see a noticable increase in the dark colors over just this past year. These colors work very well on Poplar Doors and Cherry Doors.
